2009 tournament
The annual Dunfermline Minis section tournament took place at McKane Park on Sunday 4th October with the club welcoming teams from Kirkcaldy, Perth, Crieff, Ellon and Glenrothes. Around 500 children and adults enjoyed a great day’s rugby as the minis played out a series of league competitions in what was glorious weather.
In the P4s section, Kirkcaldy came through as winners winning their four games, beating Dunfermline B whose draw in their final game proved the difference between the two sides. Dunfermline B had the consolation of winning the Fairplay award for the Primary 4’s.
Dunfermline A took the Primary 5 league but it was a close run thing, winning the title by virtue of having scored more tries than Perth (26 to 21) with both teams finishing on four wins.
Dunfermline dominated the P6 section with four straight wins scoring 24 tries in total. Ellon and Perth finished joint second.
Kirkcaldy came out on top in the P7 section. Their win over Dunfermline proved crucial in determining the overall result edging out the home side by one point.
Congratulations to all the boys and girls from each team who played out the games in good spirits and thanks to everyone who helped run and support the event on the day.
